The Modern Guitar Ensemble series is a new and exciting endeavour by Wholenote Publishing to provide a group of works aimed at developing ensemble skills among students learning instruments which have been associated with Rock and Popular music. The series will provide ensemble works for students of electric guitar, acoustic guitar and bass and some works will include optional drum kit, percussion, keyboard and horn section parts.

Each piece comes with both standard notation parts and optional TAB parts to allow students with developing music reading skills to be involved, participate in learning and to have fun with their peers. The series aims to provide as many options as possible for the band leader, as each group of students will bring their own individual skills, instruments, sounds and experience.

Titles will gradually be released, starting with the electronic publication of “The Happy Farmer”; Robert Schumann’s classic tune arranged for Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Drum Kit (optional) and featuring Bass. This publication will be free to download so you can experience the Modern Guitar Ensemble for yourself. All you’ll need is Adobe Reader, a printer and some musicians.
